Photo Fun
Babies love to see photos of their family members. Here’s a great, visually stimulating activity. Take photos of your family members. Crop the photos to create “headshots” of them, then enlarge these headshots so your baby sees primarily large images of their faces. You can do this using your home computer software or a photocopier with an enlargement feature. 4x6 is a nice size for this. Then take these images and laminate them. Punch holes in the upper corner of each card and link them using a keyring. This is a wonderful activity while at home or in the stroller! Visit sosmart.com for more activites.

Safety Note: “Round” the corners of your photo cards and make sure the edges are not sharp. Always supervise your baby with these cards!

Baby Talk
Did you know your baby is acquiring language skills even before they can talk? By listening to the people around them, your baby's brain is making important language connections. Try these tips to help baby begin to acquire language:
  • Use dramatic facial expressions and hand gestures
  • Create imaginary play situtions by talking for dolls or plush animals
  • Speak in varied pitches
  • Read and sing to baby
  • Name things or activities as you go through your day

From moms across the country...
Wouldn’t it be nice if our babies ate their food as enthusiastically as they do things on the floor? If only I could substitute broccoli for bread crumbs, chicken for cardboard boxes and oatmeal for my shoes!
